Shaw Dove Shoot Big Check

SGMC Foundation.

Creating a Community of Philanthropy.

Swin Shaw, Kevin Shaw, Tom Newbern and Jason Shaw present a $19,765 donation to the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation on behalf of the Shaw Family Dove Shoot.

It is through your generosity and kindness the Foundation has been able to support SGMC’s immediate needs during the COVID-19 pandemic by feeding frontlines, holding a successful 10K Mask Challenge, while at the same time giving back and assist other areas of our hospital like Women & Children’s, Hospice of South Georgia, Pearlman Cancer Center, Dasher Heart Center and our Lanier and Berrien campuses.

Each gift, no matter the size, contributes to a myriad of possibilities for improved health for all in the communities we serve.

It is our belief that every single generous donation received would not have been possible without the leadership of our Foundation Board of Trustees’ relationships and partnerships along with the extraordinary care delivered by our remarkable team members. Together we are showing what human kindness can do in making a difference in the health & wellness of the communities in which we serve.

Georgians Support Rural Hospitals Through HEART

The Georgia HEART Hospital Program helps rural and critical access hospitals increase their funding and their ability to provide for the health care needs of thousands of Georgians!

For many years, due to demographic, economic, and health care industry challenges, Georgia’s rural hospitals have been facing a financial crisis. This crisis jeopardizes the access of rural Georgians to adequate health care.

In response, in 2016, the Georgia General Assembly passed, and Governor Nathan Deal signed into law, legislation that awards Georgia income tax credits to individual and corporate taxpayers who contribute to qualified rural hospital organizations located in Georgia.
