The goal being to ensuring our team members experience a workplace that prioritizes their well-being, rewards their contributions, and supports them in times of need.
Over the past year, SGMC Health has implemented meaningful initiatives to enhance the employee experience. We host yearly employee appreciation days, including Nurses Week and Hospital Week, to recognize the dedication of our healthcare professionals. We also bring employees and their families together through engaging events such as Trunk or Treat, our annual Holiday Celebration, and Touch-A-Truck, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie.

Excellence in Care Awards
We are proud to recognize our remarkable providers with The Excellence in Care Award, a recognition program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence our providers bring to their patients every day. Throughout the year, you may nominate a physician for The Excellence in Care Award. This physician’s clinical skill and especially her/his compassionate care exemplify the kind of doctor that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model.

October 2024
Brian Pisula, MD
Emergency Medicine
When a family came into the SGMC Health Main emergency room with their three-month-old son who was extremely lethargic, Dr. Pisula went beyond basic tests to find the cause. Instead of sending them home when nothing obvious was wrong, he ordered a CT scan, which revealed hydrocephalus. He took the time to explain the diagnosis, comfort the parents, and arranged an urgent transfer to Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital. He even followed up to ensure they arrived safely. In the words of the patient's mother, "He truly saved my son's life and I will forever be grateful for him".
Nurses Week Campaign
During Nurses Week 2024, SGMC Health honored the dedication and expertise of our nursing team by highlighting the profound impact they have on patient care. As a special tribute, our physicians took the time to recognize and celebrate the nurses they work alongside every day, expressing their deep appreciation for their skill, compassion, and commitment.
Nurses are the backbone of healthcare, and their collaboration with physicians is essential in delivering the highest quality care to our community. Watch the video to hear directly from our physicians as they share their gratitude for the incredible nurses of SGMC Health.
Health System Heroes
