Main Campus Building Project A New Front Door to Care

Access to care begins the moment a patient arrives.

Beginning January 2027, SGMC Health’s main entrance will relocate as part of the Main Campus expansion, which includes a new three-story tower designed to enhance how patients enter, navigate, and experience care.

This investment will improve access, simplify navigation, and create a more welcoming environment for patients, families, and visitors.

Designed for Easier Access

As the health system has grown, so has the complexity of the campus.

The new design directly addresses patient feedback by making it easier to find care and move through the campus efficiently.

What’s Changing

  • The main entrance will shift from Pendleton Drive to Woodrow Wilson Drive
  • A centralized entry point will connect patients to key hospital services
  • Improved traffic flow will enhance convenience for patients and visitors
  • Additional parking will be available closer to the new main entrance, improving access for patients and families

This reorientation creates a clearer, more intuitive path to care.

Every element of the new entrance is designed to improve how patients access and experience care.

A Welcoming Environment

In addition to improved access, the project will enhance the overall campus environment. A new wellness park will provide a thoughtfully designed outdoor space for patients, visitors, and team members—supporting comfort and well-being.

Connecting Care Across Campus

The new entrance and tower are designed to integrate seamlessly with other hospital services, including the new Emergency Department and Stalvey Women & Infants Center, in addition to the Dasher Heart & Vascular Center, imaging and lab services, and more.

Together, these improvements create a more connected campus—where care is easier to access and navigate.
